Miss Calculated Duty Time

Postby Nathan on Sat Jul 04, 2009 3:05 am

I have adjusted the time of day to factor Home Standby to coincide with my LT offset from GMT (+8hrs). Trouble is all entered Home Standby is now factored by 0.5. If I try and edit it to 6hrs, it comes out as 0.06 instead of 6.00. So instead of Factor from 2200-0600, mine is 1400-2200, and enter data in GMT. So a sby from 1600-2200 LT is entered 0800-1400. PP then factors this by 0.5 to give 3 hours.

Hi Steve,

I am still waiting for a fix to the logging of home standby. PP is still factoring all my standbys by 0.5. And some by 0.01. Can I have a solution please.

Thanks

Hi Nathan

The factor for the stdby is for companies which doesn't count stdby duty fully. p. e. Within our company
only half of stdby duty is counted as duty for the legal limits. So, entering 0.5 in the factors allows to
put in start and end time correct and get the duty time as it is counted by the company.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Pascal. I fully understand why the factor is there and how it works. I used to work for easyJet and my current company follows CAP371. However, I am UTC +8 and like to enter all my data in UTC. When I change the factor time to 1400-2200 (equating to 2200-0600LT) Pilots Pal for Mac then factors all my Home Standby by a factor of 0.5, regardless of what time I enter.

Steve? Where are you mate?

Hi Nath

There is an issue with entering a factored duty entry when the factored start time is after midnight, i will look into getting a fix for this.
